Eligibility Criteria for JEE Main 2026

Criteria Requirement
Educational Qualification 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects
Minimum Marks General: 75% (65% for SC/ST) in 12th board OR be in top 20 percentile of respective board
Number of Attempts Maximum 3 attempts in consecutive years
Age Limit No age limit for JEE Main. However, for IITs, age limit is 25 years (relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST/PwD)
Year of Passing Must have passed 12th in 2024, 2025, or appearing in 2026

10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. General category needs 75% in 12th board or be in top 20 percentile. SC/ST need 65%. Maximum 3 attempts in consecutive years.

JEE Main is conducted twice a year - January and April sessions. Candidates can appear for one or both sessions. The best score among the two sessions is considered for admission.
